OnFile is an Internet-based, electronic Personal Health Record (PHR) that houses individual medical files and critical patient-care information.  The OnFile PHR can be interconnected among the various medical systems that are used in doctors offices, hospitals and clinics to give patients online access to some of their most important health information.  This information can also be accessed by medical care professionals during a patient encounter or emergency situation.

Strictly speaking, the Electronic PHR is a universally accessible, layperson comprehensible, lifelong tool for managing relevant health information, promoting health maintenance and assisting with chronic disease management via an interactive, common data set of electronic health information and e-health tools. The ePHR is owned, managed, and shared by the individual or his or her legal proxy(s) and must be secure to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the health information it contains. It is not a legal record unless so defined and is subject to various legal limitations.

1. Retail:  Customers may purchase OnFile Services through Retail Partners, Web Affiliates and Medical Providers.  OnFile may be sold as an ancillary service through doctors' offices, hospitals or clinics.
2. Contract Customers - Employer Groups, Insurance companies and hospital systems may choose to purchase OnFile for the benefit of their patient populations.
3. Technology Partners - Inpatient and Outpatient EMR Vendors may license and integrate with the OnFile API to provide seamless integration.  We also have developed a lower-tech solution for doctor's offices  and small hospitals that  do not yet have an Electronic Medical Records System.

The OnFile Personal Health Record is designed to integrate with virtually any Inpatient or Outpatient Electronic Medical Record System on the market.  It can also plug into Regional Health Information Exchanges and Regional Health Information Organizations.

OnFile can communicate using HL-7 and may also connect using a number of Services Oriented Architectures (SOA) including Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Web Services.  Our newest integration method securely communicates through Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).  What does that mean?  OnFile can connect to virtually any provider!
